Choose who can watch

Private or Anyone with the link, passwords, downloads and the transcript, and how to change them later.

Every Watch page has an access setting. You choose it when you share, and you can change it later without uploading again.

The two access levels

AccessWho can open the page
Private (Private to workspace)Only people signed in to your Watch workspace. This is the default.
Anyone with the linkAnyone you send the link to, signed in or not.

Pick it under Access on the Export page when you share, or set the default for Link takes in Settings → Uploads → Watch page access.

Change it after sharing

In BestShot, choose Details on a shared recording's card. You can change the title, the description, Who can watch (Workspace only or Anyone with the link) and Show transcript and summary to viewers, then click Save details. Nothing is rendered or uploaded again.

On the Watch page itself, click Edit shot to change the same things, plus:

  • Password: add a password that viewers must type, change it, or Remove password. Passwords are only set on the Watch page, never in the app.
  • Allow viewers to download: off by default, so viewers can watch but only you can download.

Changing the password or the access level signs out anyone who had already unlocked the page.

When you paste a Watch link into Slack, iMessage, WhatsApp, email and similar apps, it shows a preview card. Only pages set to Anyone with the link without a password show their title and picture. Private and password-protected pages show a plain BestShot card instead.

Heads up

GoHighLevel media links are public to anyone who has them, whatever the Watch page's access setting. For confidential recordings, share the Watch link and avoid passing on the direct GoHighLevel link.

What access does not do

  • Anyone who can watch a recording can make their own copy of it.
  • Deleting a Watch page removes it from Watch. It does not delete the file from your Google Drive or GoHighLevel, or the recording on your computer.
  • Watch is not end-to-end encrypted. See Privacy and your data.
