What people see on a Watch page
The player, timestamped comments, reactions and the transcript, and what guests can do without an account.
When someone opens your Watch link, they get a page with your recording on the left and a panel of Comments, Summary and Transcript on the right. Nobody needs to install BestShot to watch.
The player
The video plays in the browser with normal controls. Captions are available from the player when the recording has a transcript. Above the video, Copy link copies the page address.
Comments and reactions
Every comment is pinned to a moment in the video:
- Comment at current time jumps to the comment box and uses the moment the video is at.
- Each comment shows its timestamp. Click it to jump there.
- Markers on the timeline under the video show where people commented.
- Reactions (👍 ❤️ 👏 😂 🎉) sit under the video, with a count for each.
New comments and reactions appear for everyone on the page without reloading.
Transcript and summary
The Transcript tab lists what was said, with a timestamp on each line that jumps the video there. For recordings shared from BestShot, the transcript comes from your captions, as you edited them. If there are none, the tab says No transcript available yet.
The Summary tab shows a summary when the page has one, for example a meeting you shared with its summary turned on.
As the owner you can hide the transcript and summary from viewers. See Choose who can watch.
