Problems installing BestShot

What to do if Windows or macOS shows a warning, or the wrong download starts.

Download BestShot from bestshot.site. The download button picks the right file for your computer.

Install on a Mac

  1. Open the downloaded .dmg file.
  2. Drag BestShot into the Applications folder.
  3. Open BestShot from Applications.

The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS opens it normally. The first time you open it, setup walks you through permissions. See Fix screen recording and microphone permissions.

Note

Intel Macs and macOS versions older than 15 are not supported.

Install on Windows

  1. Open the downloaded installer.
  2. Follow the steps. BestShot opens when it is done.

If Windows SmartScreen shows Windows protected your PC, it means Windows does not yet recognise the installer. If you downloaded it from bestshot.site, click More info, then Run anyway.

Heads up

Only install BestShot from bestshot.site. Don't run an installer you received from anywhere else.

After installing

BestShot keeps itself up to date. See Update BestShot.
